IT HURTS BUT I STILL WANT IT
People enter into relationships so as to satisfy a sense of companionship. All always start well but later things change at the eleventh hour some which results to death or indulgence to drug and substance abuse. Just as everyone wishes to have a healthy relationship that prospours and yield success, the element of toxicity always thrive in and kill every dream achieved or set to be achieved.
Different from Primary and Secondary schools where freedom to pupils and students are limited, this is an heard of in campuses where students are exposed to all manners of freedom. This has lead many students to sexual behaviors, drug and substance abuse, robbery and other vices.
In various higher institutions across the Republic of Kenya,a number of cases have been recorded as a result of toxic relationships where by students take action of harming or killing their partners as a result of misunderstanding and other reasons best known to them. For instance, two years ago, a second year male student at Kabianga University was accused of stabbing his campus girlfriend to death in a love triangle.
Similarly, the month of January the same year,a forth year student at Mount Kenya University confessed that she killed her boyfriend in what she termed as being cheated.
A number of similar cases have been witnessed as a result of toxic relationships among campus students. What detectives should fetch is a long-term solution to the highlighted predicament.
Having experienced and observed my peers during my stay at the University for now two years,I conclude that toxic relationship cases among students have risen.Students themselves don't even seem to be knowing what they are getting into and also if their relationships are healthy or not. The common evident signs of toxic relationships are negative financial behaviors, dishonesty, resentment, envy and lack of support since healthy relationships are based on a mutual desire to see the other partner succeed in all areas of life.
